With its 34cm height, 128 pages, and over 170 photographs, this book is a visual feast for the eyes. 85 of the portraits are full-page images, and every one has been printed in meticulous colour to showcase their delicate hues. The cover is cloth-bound with the title elegantly embossed in metallic silver, making it not just a book, but a collectors’ item.

My personal introduction explains how the series originally came about. With its deeply insightful essays by Simon Watney, who has written extensively about the Aids crisis and sexual identity, and by John Mercer, Professor of Gender & Sexuality at Birmingham City University, this book is sure to leave a lasting impression.
